On-line Testing, Questions, Courses, and Skill Level Certifications

This XPS user self-training program, offered by The XPS Research Institute (501c3, NFP), is integrated into a series of short courses, questions, and exams that are used to measure the applicant’s current knowledge level of XPS Technology, XPS Data Processing Skills, and fundamental operation of an XPS instrument.  The user / applicant can study XPS technology, science and application presented on the website “The XPS Library” (https://library4xps.org) and then apply for Certification from XRI by completing the coursework and tests provided on this site.

This program is useful to students, lab supervisors, groups managers, and industrial lab managers to measure their own knowledge levels and to demonstrate their knowledge levels to customers, supervisors and professors.  The main certification system provides tests for 4 different levels of skill and knowledge of XPS science and technology.

A second set of certification tests is designed to test the applicants ability to operate an XPS Instrument and to collect spectra. Each question presents a short description that educates the applicant and then tests the applicant on that knowledge. After the applicant passes a level, they will receive a certificate issued by the XPS Research Institute.

Each test level will determine the knowledge level and capabilities of the analyst / engineer planning to operate a modern XPS instrument. Each test will present a series of questions with simple yes/no or multiple choice answers. The initial level questions will present a situation that educates the applicant and then tests the applicant on that knowledge. After the applicant passes a level, they will receive a certificate based on the trust and acknowledgement of XPS Research Institute.
